Mini Star topped Mince Pies


  • 1 x 500g block Jus-Rol™ shortcrust pastry
  • 200g mincemeat
  • Water for brushing
  • caster sugar for sprinkling

Equipment required

  • Rolling Pin
  • 8cm round cookie cutter
  • Star shaped cookie cutter
  • 2x Mini muffin tins
  • Teaspoon
  • Pastry Brush

Techniques used


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C for fan assisted)/400°F/Gas 6.)
  2. Roll out pastry and using the round cookie cutter to cut out 16 cases. Use remaining pastry to cut out 16 stars.
  3. Line mini muffin tin with the round cases and place 1 tsp. mincemeat in each and top with star shape. Brush star shapes with water and sprinkle lightly with caster sugar.
  4. Bake for 12 -15 minutes until pastry golden brown.
