Bake together – What is even more fun than sharing a tasty baked treat? Working together to make it yourselves! Choose a couple of things you both love or try something completely new and enjoy the process of learning together – and be sure to set aside time for taste testing together afterwards.
Plan a stay home special meal – You don’t have to head out to a fancy café or restaurant to get that romantic feeling, you just need a little preparation. Set the table, light candles and dress up for each other. Swap watching TV for some background music and let yourself feel as though you’re somewhere new.

Pick a game to play - Valentine's Day doesn't have to be all flowers and sweeping soundtracks, it can also be a great time to have fun connecting. From simple card games to complex computer adventures, playing together is all about communication - what could be better?
Walk and talk - If the weather is nice and you're able to get out the house, choose a destination and set out on a walk dedicated to talking. The biggest gift you can give someone is your full and undivided attention and fresh air and a nice view only enhances the experience.

What is Galentine’s Day?
Gone are the days when February was all about significant others – now we have Galentine’s Day! This new spin on the traditional holiday was inspired by the TV show “Parks and Recreation” in 2010 and is all about celebrating friendship with the ones that mean the most. Officially celebrated on February 13, it’s a day for getting together with friends (single or not) and appreciating each other, whether that be through a bestie brunch, movie night, you name it!

Valentine’s Day Baking Tips
Give it some heart – It’s easy to get into the spirit of the day when you add some hearts to your bakes. Use a heart shaped cookie cutter for an easy, clean line or cut them out freehand. Perfect for mini tarts or as decorations on bigger pies.
Add a sprinkling of love – White, red and pink sprinkles are great for giving your sweet treats that extra bit of razzle dazzle. Edible glitter can also look fab. Or if you don’t have any extra in, why not cut out a heart shaped stencil from greaseproof paper and lightly dust with icing sugar?
Pipe on sweet nothings – If you have a special message for your other half or your best friend, fill up a piping bag and get to work. Add their name, your initials or any other message you’d like to share – then let them enjoy your sweet words as well as pastry goodies.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas
A pastry gift box – If your other half or best buddy has a sweet tooth, why not bake them a treat and present it in a pretty box lined with baking paper? Pop on a ribbon and a handwritten tag and you’ve created something shops don’t sell.
A DIY baking kit – This can be a lovely present whether you’re planning to take part in the baking process with them or not. Gather the ingredients and write out a recipe so they know exactly what to do. You could even add something a little more extravagant, like a nice rolling pin or apron, to take it to another level.
A new scrapbook – When you love the memories you’ve made together and you look forward to making more, gift them with a scrapbook for recording all those special moments. Fill the first few pages yourself – with photos, recipes and in-jokes galore – and promise you’ll work on the rest together.
