Now you’ve got the finger food covered, what else do you need to host the perfect Halloween party?

A simple DIY party game, hide Halloween-themed items around the house and set your scavengers off to find them. Try sneaking items like rubber bats and squishy eyeballs in amongst your decorations to make them trickier to find.
Another easy game to set up, grab some post-it notes and write Halloween-themed items, movies or people on them. Then, get everyone to stick one to their head and have the others provide clues to help them guess who – or what – is on their post-it.
A classic game that’s fun for adults and kids alike, set up your witch hats and try to get the ring on one from afar. Make things more interesting with a frightful forfeit if you miss or a petrifying prize for the winner!
Give your old tin cans a new lease of life by turning them into monstrous creatures! Paint them orange, white or green and use a marker to create pumpkins, ghosts, mummies, or Frankenstein’s monster. Then, set them up in a pyramid and use a ball to bowl!
Put some cups at the end of a table and try to bounce “eyeballs” in them from the other side. You can decide whether to leave the cups empty, put soft drink in them or alcohol if it’s adults-only.

Finger Food FAQs

You can freeze both shortcrust and puff pastry, which can help you prep ahead of time for your Halloween shindig. Likewise, you can chill your finger food in the fridge for 1-2 days, so you don’t need to worry about getting everything ready on the day. Freezing is also a great way to store any leftover pastry you may have from your creepy creations; simply wrap it in a few layers of cling film and pop it in the freezer.
While appetisers and finger food can both refer to small portions of food that are eaten by hand, they’re not strictly the same thing. The key difference is when they are served – an appetiser is served before a meal, while finger food can be eaten without a meal. That’s why finger food is a great option for parties, as you don’t need to worry about serving a three-course meal for your guests.
As finger food is likely to be the only food served throughout the night, we’d recommend at least six per person. Luckily, our finger food ideas are made for sharing, so your guests won’t be short on options. If you’re worried about any leftovers, remember you can always chill your remaining nibbles for an extra couple of days to enjoy later.
